23/09/2011 Palestine Applies To the U.N for Statehood

The second day of trip number two to the West Bank of Palestine was the day thet Abbas made an official bid to make Palestine a recognised UN state. The USA has said that it will use its 'special powers' as a full time security council member to vito the bid so Palestine remains as an 'Ocuppied Territory'. Many other countries, however, have said that they are in support of Palestine and its struggle.

My day consisted of a quick demo at Burin, then straight to Qalandia check point for a demonstration against the apartheid wall. The Israeli army used extremely violent methods to try to end the demonstration and a lot of palestinians where badly hurt.

After, I went to Ramallah to join the celebrations of Abba's speech. This was one of the best times of my life, the atmosphere was amazing, everyone was in complete celebration and people where going nuts. I completely got swept up in it all.
